Mission News
As we return to Semester Two, it is great to be back in our community after our mid-year break. There is much happening during Term 3, including several initiatives in Catholic Studies classes, as well as Mission initiatives and the Diocesan LIVE Festival. I encourage all students to look at how they can ‘connect to the vine’ and immerse themselves in the opportunities in the Mission area.
Remembering Father David Catterall
This week, we remember with love and gratitude Fr David — a much-loved priest, mentor, and friend of our community.
Fr David had a way of making people feel seen. He welcomed others with warmth, spoke with wisdom, and led with quiet strength. He walked gently through our lives, offering laughter, encouragement, and deep faith.
Even in his illness, Fr David remained courageous and kind. He taught us how to trust God in all seasons — with peace, humility, and hope.
His passing leaves a space in our hearts. But the way he lived continues to guide us — in our faith, in our service, and in our love for one another.
We give thanks for Fr David’s life.
We pray for those who grieve.
And we trust that he now rests in the embrace of the God he served so faithfully.
Grandparents Day
We gather to celebrate and honour the special role our grandparents play in our lives. They are our storytellers, our encouragers, and our role models: offering unconditional love and life lessons that shape who we are. On this Grandparents Day, we take a moment to recognise their presence, their sacrifices, and the lasting legacy they leave in our families and communities. Let us now offer a prayer of gratitude for them.
Heavenly Father,
We give thanks today for the gift of our grandparents. Their love, wisdom, and guidance have been a source of strength and inspiration. Bless them with good health, joy, and peace. May their lives be filled with the same love and warmth they have given us.
Help us to honour and cherish them, recognising the profound impact they have had on our lives. May we always remember their sacrifices and the lessons they have taught us.
Grant them comfort and grace, and may our actions reflect our gratitude and appreciation for their enduring support and love.
