Sports Update
Australian School Girls Rugby League
During the holidays, Tahanni Kaufusi and Halle Barrett represented the NSWCCC Team at the Australian Rugby League Championships in Coffs Harbour.
They kicked off the tournament with a strong 36–4 win over WA, followed by another solid performance, defeating ACT Girls 30–6 on Day Two. They then went on to beat NSW CIS 16-12. The team’s final game was against QRSS in the semi final. NSWCCC went down 14-8. The NSWCCC team finished 3rd overall.
Both girls had a fantastic tournament, and we’re especially proud to share that Halle has been selected for the Australian Schoolgirls Team! This is an incredible achievement and a testament to her hard work and talent. Well done, Halle
Ginger Siasat in Year 9 was selected to play for the NSWCCC team at the NSW All Schools in Week 9. Ginger had a great tournament, scoring 8 tries and had a solid defensive game. She was also named players player which put an exclamation mark to her campaign.
On the back of this she now has been selected to play for the NSW 7s Team to play in Queensland next month. Well done and congratulations, Ginger.
NSW All Schools Hockey
Jasmine Wright, in Year 8, attended the U15 NSW All Schools hockey trials with the NSWCCC Team. Jasmine had a great trial and was successful in her selection into the NSW All Schools team. Jasmine will now travel to the ACT for the Australian Championships. Good Luck Jasmine.
NSW All Schools Cross Country
On Monday, Macleay Kesby in Year 12 competed at Sydney Equestrian Centre in the NSW All Schools Cross Country Champs.
Despite slipping and landing on his knees in the gravel mid-race, Macca finished incredibly strong and secured 4th with a time of 24min 38sec.
It was a massive PB on his June 11 NSW CCC & CPS Cross Country run, same course and distance, this time running 1min 39secs faster.
Macleay now progresses to National All Schools Cross Country on the Gold Coast. Plus he has also qualified for Athletics Australia National Cross Country coming up in Ballarat, VIC. Well done Macleay.
Term 2 Wrap-up
Term 2 was our biggest and most successful term for sport so far! A major highlight was our Athletics Carnival, which saw fantastic participation and school spirit. It was also a standout term for individual sporting achievement, with over 22 students selected for Diocesan teams, 7 students progressing to NSWCCC teams, 3 representing at NSW All Schools level, and one student earning selection in an Australian Schools team. Congratulations to all our athletes on an outstanding term!

Important Documents
On the Compass Newsfeed, you will find the following two documents:
- 2025 Sporting opportunities document. There are many sporting opportunities students are able to get involved in in 2025. Students can now see the “2025 Sporting opportunities” document with all of the sports available to trial for as well as the sign up sheet for the majority of the teams (parents/caregivers can't sign up to trial for a team on behalf of their child). This has been posted to students' compass.
There are a few sports that I do not have the link for yet (these are teams where students need to apply to trial through the Wollongong Diocese). Once I receive these links I will be updating the document so please keep checking it for updates. - Pinned on the Compass page is the 2025 Sports Flyer.
