Year 11 Leadership Day

On Thursday, 29 May, our Year 12 school leaders hosted a dynamic Leadership Day aimed at developing leadership skills among Year 11 students. This special event provided an invaluable opportunity for students to explore the qualities and skills essential for effective leadership.

Throughout the day, students were introduced to the process of leadership, learning about the steps involved in stepping up as a leader, from building confidence, communication and problem solving. They also gained insight into the different positions and roles the leaders play within the school community and the characteristics that define strong and supportive leaders, such as visibility, integrity, empathy, resilience, and servant leadership.

To put these ideas into practice, Year 11 students participated in nine engaging activities designed to challenge their teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. These activities encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones and apply what they learned in real-time.

Feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, with many feeling more confident and motivated to pursue leadership opportunities in the future. Leadership Day has not only equipped them with essential skills but also sparked enthusiasm for making a positive impact in the school community.

Students are now in the process of self and peer nominations.
