Sports Update
NSWCCC Rugby League
Last week we had the following students attend the NSWCCC Rugby League trials: Lilly Griggs, Halle Barrett, Tahanni Kaufusi, Shiloh Woolford, Lila Miller Talon Saco, Tahj Diamond, Charlie Griffiths. All students had a excellent tournament, with Halle, Tahanni, Halle and Lila making the NSWCCC Team and Charlie, Tahj making the Country tour Team.
These students now travel next week to play at the Australian Rugby League Championships later this term.
Diocsean Soccer
Piper Robertson, Jessica Bell, Gemma Bishop, Jordan Sirijovski and Jake Petrovski all competed at the NSWCCC Soccer championships over two days in Sydney. Jessica and Gemma's Open girls team went through the competition undefeated and won the final 1-0 against Maitland Diocese. Gemma was named player of the final and secured her spot in the NSWCCC team. She will now trial for the NSW All schools team later in June.
Diocesan Cross Country
Due to the poor weather the Diocesan Cross Country changed format and moved to a selection trial only.
Corpus students had a successful day with Gianna Jaksic, Chelsea Baxter, Mason Jimenez, Reid Coelho, Parker Burce, Taj Clare, Eli Phillips, Oliver Smith and Macleay Kesby making the Diocesan Team. A big shout out to Macleay for finishing 1st in the boys 18+ age group.
Good luck to all students attending the NSWCCC Championship on 11 June.
CCCHS Athletics Carnival
On Friday, 30 May, students from across the school gathered at the Kerryn McCann Athletic Centre for our annual Cross Country Carnival. It was a fantastic day, with perfect weather and an outstanding display of effort, sportsmanship and school spirit from all participants.
Congratulations to all athletes, and a special mention to our Age Champions for 2025:
- 12s – Victoria Shaw and Mason Jimenez
- 13s – Adelle Gray and Gianni Oiteirinho
- 14s – Eden Casey and Lincoln Blanch
- 15s – Ginger Siasat and Ryze Smith
- 16s – Laura Fitzwilliam and Joseph Burgess
- 17s – Charlotte Kerr and Joshua Lakeman
- 18s – Chelsea Baxter and Macleay Kesby
Students who have qualified for the school representative team will be contacted in the coming weeks via compass. They will go on to compete at the Wollongong Diocese Carnival, held early next term at Campbelltown Athletics Stadium. Well done to everyone involved!

Important Documents
On the Compass Newsfeed you will find the following two documents:
- 2025 Sporting opportunities document. There are many sporting opportunities students are able to get involved in in 2025. Students can now see the “2025 Sporting opportunities” document with all of the sports available to trial for as well as the sign up sheet for the majority of the teams (parents/caregivers can't sign up to trial for a team on behalf of their child). This has been posted to students' compass.
There are a few sports that I do not have the link for yet (these are teams where students need to apply to trial through the Wollongong Diocese). Once I receive these links I will be updating the document so please keep checking it for updates. - Pinned on the Compass page is the 2025 Sports Flyer. This document is an overview of the 2025 sporting opportunities document. The flyer contains the following information:
- Diocesan Sports
- Individual Pathway Sport
- External School entered competitions
- How to register to trial for a Corpus team
- Updated Elite Sportsperson Policy
This will be your first point of call for any information about sport at Corpus. If you have any other questions please contact myself via: hawkesbyk01@dow.cathlic.edu.au
