Sports Update
Southern Country Rugby League
Last week we had the following students attend the Southern Country Rugby League trials in Wagga: Lilly Griggs, Rugby Kerr, Talon Saco, Tahj Diamond, Wezley Smith, Charlie Griffiths, Tom Eirth and Harry O’Shea. All students had an excellent tournament, with Lilly, Talon, Tahj and Charlie making the Southern Country Team. These students now travel next week to play at the NSWCCC trials along with our open girls who made the Southern Country Team last term. Good luck and congratulations to the students involved. A shout out to Mr Iacono for coaching the U15s Boys Diocesan Team.
Rugby Union
Ginger Siasat in Year 9 was selected in the NSWCCC Rugby Union team. There were 52 girls who trialled and 12 were selected. Ginger was the only one from the Wollongong Diocese who was selected in the team. Congratulations Ginger!
Diocsean Soccer
Jessica Bell, Gemma Bishop, Jordan Sirijovski and Jake Petrovski were all made the Wollongong Diocese Soccer Team last week. These students will now travel to Sydney for two days to play at the NSWCCC tournament on the 27th and 28th of May. Best of luck to all those involved.

Important Documents
On the Compass Newsfeed you will find the following two documents:
- 2025 Sporting opportunities document. There are many sporting opportunities students are able to get involved in in 2025. Students can now see the “2025 Sporting opportunities” document with all of the sports available to trial for as well as the sign up sheet for the majority of the teams (parents/caregivers can't sign up to trial for a team on behalf of their child). This has been posted to students' compass.
There are a few sports that I do not have the link for yet (these are teams where students need to apply to trial through the Wollongong Diocese). Once I receive these links I will be updating the document so please keep checking it for updates. - Pinned on the Compass page is the 2025 Sports Flyer. This document is an overview of the 2025 sporting opportunities document. The flyer contains the following information:
- Diocesan Sports
- Individual Pathway Sport
- External School entered competitions
- How to register to trial for a Corpus team
- Updated Elite Sportsperson Policy
This will be your first point of call for any information about sport at Corpus. If you have any other questions please contact myself via: hawkesbyk01@dow.cathlic.edu.au
