Peer Support Program
Throughout Term 1, our Year 10 Peer Support Leaders played a vital role in welcoming and supporting our newest Year 7 students. The Peer Support Program began on the first day of school, with friendly check-ins, ice-breaker activities and a tour of the school that helped ease nerves. Each week or fortnightly Peer Support Leaders met with Year 7 to complete structured sessions focusing on key aspects of high school success, such as building safe and respectful relationships, creating support networks, and developing resilience. Students explored what it means to thrive in high school, with engaging activities on decision-making, challenges, and respectful behaviour. Later in the term, support was offered in assessment preparation and organisation – a timely and valuable resource as students navigated their first formal assessment tasks. The final session provided space for reflection, gratitude, and a look ahead at new opportunities.
