CCCHS Athletics Carnival
The Annual CCCHS Athletics Carnival is on Friday 30 May (week 5).
Please see a summary of the day below (more details are on Compass under the Athletics Carnival event)
- Where: Beaton Park Athletics Track Wollongong
- When: Friday 30 May
- Who: All students and staff (compulsory whole school event)
Other information: Students will be getting their rolls marked in Learning Circle. After roll marking, students will then be called to board the bus in house groups where they will travel by bus or private transport to the venue (Beaton Park). Students who wish to race in the 1500m event will be called down to the buses first. Students will return to school by 2:50pm in time for buses and normal departure procedures. Throughout the day, students will be rotating through activities with their Age Group. For some students, this might be different to students in their year group that they normally hang out with. There will be no negotiation on this as students are required to remain in these age groups for supervision purposes, and also in the case that an emergency procedure occurs.
Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, long jump, high jump, shot put and discus (Javelin will be run at school later on this term)
Food: There will be a BBQ at the venue, however students are encouraged to bring lunch and recess.
What to wear: Full sports uniform including hat. Students can also wear house colours.
Next Level: For students to make the school team to compete at the Diocese Carnival they need to participate at the school carnival. Each school can enter the following number of competitors per age group:
- 1500m - 2
- 200m - 2
- 800m - 2
- 100m - 3

Important Documents
On the Compass Newsfeed you will find the following two documents:
- 2025 Sporting opportunities document. There are many sporting opportunities students are able to get involved in in 2025. Students can now see the “2025 Sporting opportunities” document with all of the sports available to trial for as well as the sign up sheet for the majority of the teams (parents/caregivers can't sign up to trial for a team on behalf of their child). This has been posted to students' compass.
There are a few sports that I do not have the link for yet (these are teams where students need to apply to trial through the Wollongong Diocese). Once I receive these links I will be updating the document so please keep checking it for updates. - Pinned on the Compass page is the 2025 Sports Flyer. This document is an overview of the 2025 sporting opportunities document. The flyer contains the following information:
- Diocesan Sports
- Individual Pathway Sport
- External School entered competitions
- How to register to trial for a Corpus team
- Updated Elite Sportsperson Policy
This will be your first point of call for any information about sport at Corpus. If you have any other questions please contact myself via: hawkesbyk01@dow.cathlic.edu.au
